Ruhammer A. Manley

Ruhammer Adeline Manley, my Great Great Grandmother, and mother to Isabelle H. Lovell, was born in Massachusetts Sept 1, 1876, likely in Wareham, MA.  Her parents and siblings moved to Taunton, Ma in the mid 1890's.

She married Herbert Lovell, who worked at the railroad freight yard, on Sept 18, 1897 in Taunton at the age of 21.  Herbert worked as a baggage man at the railroad station for his entire life, and they lived in several homes near his work.  They had 11 children, Harrison, Edna, Isabelle, Jane, Gertrude, Ruhammer, Dora, Effie, Martha, Bertha, and Leonardo.

The photo is of the Taunton Courthouse built in the early 1800's.  Taunton is one of the oldest cities in America, founded in 1637.  In the late 1800's its industries included Iron working and Textile miles like many towns in the north east.

Ruhammer died Sept 10, 1933 at the age of 57 in Fall River, MA
