Warren David Bruce & Sarah Forbes

Warren David Bruce, My 3rd great grandfather and father of Edward Bruce was born in Duxbury, VT on June 26, 1837.  He lived with his parents and 3 siblings in Roxbury, VT just down the road from Duxbury.  Both towns are in Washington county in central Vermont.  Pictured left is a photo of Roxbury.

His family were farmers but he worked primarily as a shoe maker for most of his life.  In 1858 he married Sarah J. Forbes who was raised in Massachusetts.  Their children were, Julia, Edward, Harley, and Eli.

The family stayed in Roxbury until about 1890 when they moved to Randolph in Orange County, Vermont.  By that time the children had all moved out, and it was just Warren and Sarah until Warren's death on April 19th, 1910, age 72.   His cause of death was "Granular Kidney's".  Sarah died December 1, 1917 and is buried in Northfield, Vermont.  I believe she died while in Cook County Illinois.
